Porcupine Mountains

Campers going into high school trade in their paddles for back packs as they hit the trails of the Porcupine Mountains. This state park, located in the upper peninsula of Michigan is a favored hiking area of many, just along the south shore of Lake Superior. Affectionately known as "the Porkies", the state park has an excellent set of trails, waterfalls and tremendous scenic vistas.

This trip provides a well rounded experience for our campers. Several stretches of trail are challenging and really push them. The trail will take campers through stretches of virgin forest, to Lake of the Clouds as well as to heights with amazing views of the surrounding landscape. Campers will also hike along Lake Superior as they gain the skills that will help prepare them for The Canadian.
